Satuan lalu lintas Polresta Gorontalo menggencarkan operasi penertiban terhadap aksi balap liar yang semakin meresahkan masyarakat, terutama saat setelah sahur dan Shubuh,Minggu (2/3) dini hari
Kapolresta Gorontalo Kota Kombespol Dr.Ade Permana,S.I.K.,MH melalui Kasat Lantas Akp Octalya Saka,S.Tr.K,S.I.K.,M.Si., mengatakan untuk menekan angka kecelakaan yang terjadi akibat balap liar yang sering dilakukan oleh remaja di bulan ramadhan ini,Sat lantas Polresta melakukan hunting di beberapa titik yakni di jembatan talumolo dua/by pass , tinaloga ,sepanjang jalan andalas ,jl.arif rahman,jl.sudirman,jl.palma dan Jl.raja eyato.
“Dari operasi rutin dengan sistim hunting tersebut sebanyak 33 kenderaan yang terdiri dari 30 unit sepeda motor dan 3 unit mobil berhasil diamankan,dimana pelanggaran paling banyak adalah tidak menggunakan helm,knalpot brong dan TNKB,” ujar Akp Octa.

Akp Octa menegaskan bahwa menghentikan balapan liar adalah kunci untuk menekan angka kecelakaan dan kami tidak ingin ada korban sia-sia akibat aksi ugal-ugalan di jalan.
Selain itu, Kasat Lantas juga mengimbau para orang tua agar lebih mengawasi anak-anak mereka, terutama setelah waktu sebelum dan sesudah sahur, karena jam tersebut sering dimanfaatkan oleh para remaja untuk melakukan aksi balap liar.
Dengan adanya tindakan tegas ini, diharapkan angka kecelakaan akibat balapan liar dapat ditekan, serta tercipta lingkungan yang lebih aman dan kondusif bagi masyarakat Kota Gorontalo.
