Daerah Operasi 6 Yogyakarta secara resmi menjalin kerja sama dengan Stasiun Meteorologi Kelas II Yogyakarta, Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG), melalui Penandatanganan Perjanjian Kerja Sama yang dilaksanakan di Yogyakarta pada Senin, 15 Desember 2025. Penandatanganan dilaksanakan oleh Executive Vice President Operasi 6 Yogyakarta, Bambang Respationo dan Kepala Stasiun Meteorologi BMKG Kelas II Yogyakarta, Warjono.
Kerja sama ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan dan keandalan operasional perjalanan kereta api, khususnya melalui dukungan informasi prakiraan cuaca dan peringatan dini cuaca ekstrem yang akurat, cepat, dan terintegrasi. Faktor cuaca memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kelancaran perjalanan kereta api, seperti hujan lebat, angin kencang, maupun kondisi cuaca ekstrem lainnya yang berpotensi mengganggu operasional.
Dalam sambutannya, Executive Vice President Operasi 6 Yogyakarta, Bambang Respationo menyampaikan bahwa kolaborasi ini merupakan langkah strategis dalam upaya mitigasi risiko dan pengambilan keputusan operasional yang lebih tepat. Dengan adanya dukungan data dan informasi dari BMKG, KAI Daop 6 dapat melakukan berbagai langkah antisipatif lebih dini demi memastikan perjalanan kereta api tetap aman dan selamat bagi pelanggan, khususnya jelang masa Angkutan Natal dan Tahun 2025/2026.
Manager Humas KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, Feni Novida Saragih, menyampaikan bahwa kerja sama ini menjadi bentuk komitmen KAI dalam mengedepankan keselamatan sebagai prioritas utama pelayanan. “Melalui kerja sama ini, KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta memperoleh akses informasi prakiraan cuaca dan peringatan dini cuaca ekstrem yang lebih akurat dan real time dari BMKG. Informasi tersebut sangat penting sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan operasional, sehingga potensi gangguan perjalanan akibat faktor cuaca dapat diminimalkan,” ujar Feni.
Feni menambahkan, sinergi antara KAI dan BMKG diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak langsung bagi masyarakat, khususnya para pengguna jasa kereta api, melalui peningkatan keselamatan dan kenyamanan perjalanan.
“Keselamatan perjalanan kereta api merupakan prioritas utama kami. Dengan dukungan data cuaca yang andal, KAI Daop 6 dapat melakukan mitigasi risiko secara lebih efektif, sekaligus meningkatkan keandalan layanan transportasi publik yang aman dan berkelanjutan,” tambahnya.
Kerja sama antara KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta dan BMKG Yogyakarta ini mencakup penyediaan informasi cuaca, peringatan dini cuaca ekstrem, serta dukungan data meteorologi yang akan digunakan untuk mendukung operasional perjalanan kereta api di wilayah Daop 6 Yogyakarta.
KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta berharap kolaborasi ini dapat berjalan secara berkelanjutan, semakin solid, serta memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam mendukung sistem transportasi perkeretaapian yang andal, aman, dan berorientasi pada keselamatan pelanggan.
