Sulut – XposeTV. Gubernur Dan Menteri KP Bahas Pembangunan Pelabuhan Bitung. Gubernur Sulawesi Utara (Sulut), Mayjen TNI (Purn) Yulius Selvanus, SE, melakukan kunjungan kerja ke Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) di Jakarta pada Senin (14/4/2025). Dalam pertemuan dengan Menteri KP Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, kedua pihak membahas rencana strategis pengembangan sektor kelautan dan perikanan di Sulut, termasuk pembangunan Pelabuhan Bitung sebagai New Port International dengan rute ke Eropa.
Pertemuan ini fokus pada lima komoditas strategis provinsi tersebut, yakni rumput laut, perikanan tangkap, serta penguatan infrastruktur pelabuhan. Menteri Trenggono menegaskan, pembangunan Pelabuhan Bitung bertaraf internasional akan memperluas jangkauan ekspor komoditas Sulut ke pasar global. “Pelabuhan ini nantinya menjadi pintu masuk komoditas unggulan seperti rumput laut dan hasil perikanan ke negara-negara Eropa dan dunia,” ujarnya.
Gubernur Yulius menyambut positif komitmen KKP. Ia menyebut Sulut memiliki potensi kelautan yang luas, sehingga memerlukan dukungan infrastruktur dan kebijakan terpadu. “Kami siap menjalin kerjasama konkret dengan KKP untuk merealisasikan program jangka panjang ini,” tegas mantan Staf Pribadi Menteri Pertahanan Prabowo Subianto itu.
Selain pembangunan pelabuhan, pertemuan juga membahas program pengelolaan rumput laut berkelanjutan dan modernisasi sektor perikanan. Trenggono menambahkan, langkah ini sejalan dengan visi pemerintah meningkatkan daya saing ekonomi biru nasional.

Sebagai tindak lanjut, Pemprov Sulut akan segera menyusun nota kesepahaman dengan KKP. Dukungan ini diharapkan mempercepat transformasi Bitung menjadi hub logistik dan ekspor berbasis maritim di kawasan Indonesia Timur. (JS)
