“Kehadiran diaspora Indonesia di Jepang dapat berkontribusi secara positif. Menjadi duta Indonesia, memberikan karya terbaik, mematuhi hukum setempat, saling jaga silaturahmi, dan saling membantu,” pesannya.
Lebih jauh, Wapres menuturkan bahwa tahun depan Indonesia dan Jepang akan merayakan 65 tahun hubungan bilateral. Menurutnya, akan ada banyak kegiatan yang disiapkan oleh KBRI Tokyo dan KJRI Osaka yang juga melibatkan diaspora Indonesia di Jepang.
“Saya berharap hubungan persahabatan antara kedua negara yang telah berjalan lebih dari enam dekade akan semakin erat dan memberikan manfaat bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat kedua negara,” harapnya.

Pertemuan ini, kata Wapres, akan ia manfaatkan untuk menindaklanjuti hasil kunjungan Presiden Joko Widodo ke Jepang akhir Juli 2022 lalu. Membahas beberapa kepentingan Indonesia, khususnya penguatan kerja sama ekonomi, ketenagakerjaan, kesehatan, dan peningkatan kapasitas SDM.
“Saya (juga) ingin mendorong kerjasama potensial Indonesia dan Jepang utamanya pengembangan ekonomi syariah dan industri halal. Pada sektor unggulan yaitu makanan, kosmetika, fesyen, dan pariwisata,” sebutnya.
Wapres pun menegaskan bahwa Indonesia siap menjadi mitra utama Jepang dalam mengembangkan bisnis halal dengan memanfaatkan kemampuan UMKM yang terfokus pada kesejahteraan masyarakat.
“Saya harap diaspora Indonesia di Jepang dapat mendukung rencana ini,” pintanya.
Terkait pengembangan UMKM, pada kesempatan ini Wapres mengapresiasi adanya upaya pemberdayaan UMKM di Jepang oleh WNI melalui UKM Center. Difasilitasi oleh KBRI Tokyo dan didukung oleh sinergi perbankan dan kantor BUMN cabang Tokyo. Termasuk pendirian _Halal Vending Machine_ milik WNI di Jepang.

“Selain itu, KBRI juga melaksanakan kegiatan Indonesia Friendship Day (IFD) di sejumlah kota besar di Jepang. Pelaksanakan pelayanan kekonsuleran sekaligus ramah tamah Dubes RI dengan tokoh masyarakat Indonesia,” ujarnya.
Sebagai informasi, hingga Desember 2021, jumlah total WNI di Jepang mencapai 59.820 orang. Terdiri dari pemegang ijin tinggal _permanent resident_, _temporary resident_, pemagang, pelajar, istri/suami WN Jepang, visa untuk aktivitas tertentu dan lain-lain.
