Titik paling parah berada di jembatan sungai buntung. Tumbuhan enceng gondok telah menutupi aliran sungai. Kurang lebih 50 personil gabungan dari BPBD Jatim dan BPBD Sidoarjo serta Dinas PU Bina Marga dan SDA Sidoarjo diterjunkan langsung. Mereka bahu membahu membersihkan enceng gondok di sungai tersebut. Beberapa alat berat dan truk pengangkut sampah juga didatangkan.
Kepala Dinas PU Bina Marga dan SDA Sidoarjo Dwi Eko Saptono mengatakan tumbuhan enceng gondok menghambat aliran sungai buntung. Tumbuhan liar itu tersangkut di jembatan Desa Tanjungsari. Hal itu berpotensi menjadi penyebab genangan air dibeberapa desa diwilayah Kecamatan Taman. Seperti di Desa Bringinbendo, Sidodadi, Trosobo dan Desa Kramatjegu.
