Kegiatan yang bertempat di Ruang Anusapati ini juga dihadiri Ketua DPRD Kabupaten Malang, Ketua Komisi IV DPRD Kabupaten Malang, Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Malang dan sejumlah Kepala OPD di lingkungan Pemerintah Kabupaten Malang, serta diikuti 30 Kepala SMP Calon Sekolah Unggulan dan Ketua Korwil Pendidikan se Kabupaten Malang.Konsep
”Syukur alhamdulillah, sesuai arahan Bapak Bupati Malang, Drs. H. M. Sanusi, M.M, bahwa kegiatan pagi ini digelar dalam rangka mempersiapkan generasi-generasi unggul yang kelak akan memimpin Kabupaten Malang di masa mendatang, melalui SDM yang diawali dengan mempersiapkan Sekolah Unggulan untuk tingkat SMP.
Dengan hadirnya Sekolah Unggulan ini menjawab tantangan bahwa di Kabupaten Malang juga berdiri SMA Taruna Nusantara sehingga semua siswa SMP di Kabupaten Malang supaya bisa bersaing mengikuti seleksi masuk di SMA Taruna Nusantara, tentunya dengan memiliki nilai dan prestasi yang sesuai persyaratan dan ketentuan di SMA Nusantara,” tegas Wabup Lathifah Shohib saat membuka audiensi.
Sementara itu, Ketua DPRD Kabupaten Malang, Darmadi, S.Sos meyebut pihaknya siap mendukung langkah Pemkab Malang untuk menyiapkan sekolah unggulan di tingkat SD dan SMP seperti yang digagas Bupati Malang sebagai pondasi mencetak dan melahirkan SDM unggul. Diakuinya, dengan keberadaan SMA Taruna Nusantara di Kabupaten Malang melecut dan memberikan semangat bagi Pemerintah Kabupaten Malang berpartisipasi menyumbang siswa-siswa untuk bisa masuk diterima di SMA Taruna dan di sekolah dengan jenjang lebih tinggi di Malang Raya.
”DPRD nantinya akan hadir dengan peran mengawasi dan mendukung terkait budgeting. Mari kita mulai dengan menciptakan Sekolah Unggulan di tingkat dasar, yakni SD dan SMP karena masuk dalam wewenang dari Pemerintah Kabupaten Malang.
Oleh karena itu mari bersama-sama mendidik dan mempersiapkan generasi unggul sejak di tingkat SD hingga SMP sebagai pondasi anak-anak kita bisa berprestasi baik di bidang akademik dan lainnya. Sehingga maka nanti dipilih sekolah-sekolah yang akan ada Sekolah Unggulan di Kabupaten Malang, dengan bukan berarti bukan tidak penting dan kurang diperhatikan,” jelasnya.
