Pesan ini bukan sekadar kalimat bijak, melainkan panggilan untuk kembali pada esensi diri sebagai manusia utuh yang mengutamakan akhlak, kejujuran, dan integritas sebelum menyelami kedalaman ilmu.
Menurut Dr. Dewa Wijaya, banyak orang terjebak dalam euforia belajar tanpa memperbaiki niat dan karakter. “Ilmu itu akan menjadi penerang, hanya jika hati yang membawanya bersih dan benar. Kalau tidak, hanya menjadi kumpulan teori yang kosong makna,” ungkapnya.
Ia menekankan bahwa membangun diri sebagai pribadi yang benar dalam pikiran, sikap, dan tindakan adalah fondasi utama sebelum memahami kedalaman spiritualitas dan keilmuan. Tanpa landasan ini, ilmu justru bisa melahirkan kebingungan, arogansi, atau bahkan perpecahan.
“Ilmu pengetahuan yang bermanfaat adalah ilmu pengetahuan yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan membawa kebaikan bagi diri sendiri dan orang lain,” pungkasnya.
Dengan demikian, menjadi orang yang baik dan benar menjadi langkah awal yang penting dalam memanfaatkan ilmu pengetahuan dan agama untuk kehidupan yang lebih baik.
